Trends: What to wear for your Christmas Parties

When dressing yourself this holiday season or dressing your table there are fabulous finds in your own neighborhoods and in the stores to help you accomplish your style needs!

When dressing yourself this holiday season refer to gold, bronze and classic evergreens for your accessories their seasonal yet still spot on! You can also always opt for Dark Blue's and Purples with silver accessories.

Complete your look with a statement neckless...I've included a link and below!

When dressing your table, have some fun with it!
Source fabric from your local fabric store look for Red and Green Plaids, Polka dots, or light green paisleys...make sure you get it big enough for your table and roll under and sew the raw edges to finish it off...if you don't have a sewing machine your local dry cleaner could probably do this for you while you wait for about $10.

The best part of these do it yourself tablecloths is that you can reuse them come spring!

For you Glassware mix in the glasses you already have with Champagne and wine glasses from your local antique store. You can pick up a set of Antique Crystal glasses for about $2.00 which is more than half the cost of brand new set...and you get to own a piece of history.

When it comes to your holiday florals, mix in white delicate flowers with, Stargazer lilies, Red Barry's, and Roses for a fragrant, beautiful, and long last arrangement...you can do a large arrangement yourself for about $20 instead of the $80+ that your florist would charge!

Exterior Holiday Decorating Tips - From my house to yours!

Before
How do you go from drab to fab?  With Christmas just days away some of us have already decorated others are lagging behind and some have just done a purely awful job of it. Well have no fear because the Stepford Husband is here, if I can redo a bedroom for under $30,000.00 then I can do anything...but mind you I will do it for a lot less then $30k.

Supplies
These will be your supplies:
LED Lights, Christmas Balls, some beaded garland, real evergreen garlands, of course poinsettias, a evergreen wreath, ribbon, zip-ties, 15' electrical outlets...timers if you so desire.

Throw these all into a pot and let them stew and you will have a magnificent entry that will make all your neighbors jealous.

Now, we are using real Evergreen Garlands...why are we doing this?  they are 15' long which is excellent when you are trying to cover a larger area for very little money. I found them at Homo Depot...I mean Home Depot, for only $11 each. I got four of them, compare the price of the real garlands to the price of the pre-lit artificial garlands at 9' each and at $29.00 each you can already see the savings, especially since you can buy an 18' string of energy efficient LED lights for $4.99 each.

To light your garlands simply stretch them out and wrap them with your LED lights, to hang them, take two nails and put one on each side of the top of your wooden door frame on the top of the ledge where you can't see the marks.  Find the center of your garland, line it up with the center of your door frame, take a long zip-tie and a short zip-tie up your latter with you and the garland...zip-tie around the garland where it lines up appropriately with the nail, use the smaller zip-tie to make a loop...loop that over the nail...repeat with the opposite side.

Next take your beaded garland and wrap it around your evergreen garland.  Now, you are ready to add your Christmas Balls.

When it comes to your Christmas balls get them in various sizes and I recommend you get about 60 large ones and about 75 smaller ones...this will be enough to cover all four garlands and your wreath...remember to divide them fairly evenly between each garland.

Add the large ones first and disperse them evenly, next group the smaller ones with and around the larger ones, I find that groupings of three usually look quite nice.  Add them to your wreath as well.

Next, add your poinsettias...why are we adding these?  Your garlands are ornaments for handrails and doorways, but you need to ground them to the floor, the poinsettias do this and add a nice finishing touch!

Next, take your ribbon and wrap it around your door like you would wrap it around a present.

After this is all set and done you will have a breathtaking entry that is sure to brighten up your home, spirits...and guilt your neighbors into decorating as well!

My Quest for My Holiday Outfit & How You Can Get It Too!

Rufskin's "Adnan"
As many of you know I have been on the quest for my holiday outfit!  With the aid of Pinteres.com I was able to get design and style ideas. As the days have gone buy I have been able to source most of it.

Due to the fit of the jeans to the left and my fashion knowledge I knew instantly who I was dealing with! I went to Rufskin Denim, now these jeans are the Adnan, which are are cigarette skinny...now I have skinny jeans but I don't wear them every day, so, always trying to get the most bang for my fashion I went with the boot-cut Cooper which goes with everything I own!  My only problem is that the cooper doesn't seam black enough
Rufskin's "Cooper"
So I might dye them black, which I have only dyed things once in my life...eeekkk.  Who knows I will probably love them right out of the box!

NEXT-I was on to the Boots, in the Pinterest photo this guy is wearing 3-Buckle Equestrian Boots, now when you need an uncommon shoe of any type or hell just an odd item to begin with where does one go?  EBAY!!!!!!  I was able to find these boots...and I mean, these boots...get your own pair here.

With my feet covered...literally...I moved on to the shirts.  Now, I already have a White Collared Tuxedo Shirt but I am looking for a white sport-coat, H&M has one but I just know it is going to fall apart in like a day.
However, I must admit it is exactly what I am looking for...for the Piste de Resistance I have found this stunning Black Button Down Cardigan It is going to complete everything and tie it all together!!! Happy Holidays!

Justin Timberlake at our Hotel for Marines Ball and Croatians in Costume!

Over the top Christmas at the Gaylord National
The Husband and I are in Washington DC until Wednesday and we are lucky enough to stay at the Gaylord National located on the Potomac River, it is a behemoth of a building with ballrooms and conference centers and something like 2000 "luxurious rooms"...their words, not mine.  I mean the rooms are nice, but we've seen better...

The Gaylord is in the process of decorating for Christmas...so far the little houses you see to your left are actually not so little.  They are full size houses that I am sure you can walk into and check out verious seasonal related things.  All of these are enclosed in a heated 12 story atrium. I believe these houses are representative of what the residences looked like in the early days of Washington DC...very similar to the Western Theme of the Gaylord Dallas...If you are lucky enough to score a room with an interior balcony you get to look out over this fabulous winter wonderland.  However, beware every 20 minutes or so a bright green spotlight flashes bringing to mind being abducted by martians versus a winter wonderland.

Last night after arriving alive yet beaten from the turbulence of our 5 hour United Airlines flight, the Marines were having a ball so there were tons of Military people in the Dress Uniforms and most of them were accompanied with their fat military wives, but, all in all they looked great and we saw a 3 star general, which for those of you who don't know, that means he probably carries a key to a nuke somewhere.  Another individual and also a famous one at that was Justin Timberlake.
The multi-talented star made good on his promise to attend the Marine Corps Ball with Corporal Kelsey De Santis in Richmond, VA
The next touch of randomness is a massive gathering of Croatians so in the midths of Military Uniforms, men in suits you have tons of individuals looking like this------------------>

At first, I thought they were elves for the Christmas theme, that would have been awesome!!!!!

If you would like to learn more about the JT appearance you can read the full article here: http://movies.yahoo.com/news/justin-timberlake-attends-marine-corps-ball-165931874.html

More to come!
